Yide Hotel is located at 16 Shaxiang Street, Pingyao. The hotel is a beautifully renovated house with a courtyard built by a wealthy merchant during the reign of Emperor Qianlong (1736).
Yide hotel provides guests all of the modern conveniences, in a beautiful and historic setting. Tourists have longed marveled at the hotel’s Ming and Qing Dynasty buildings and furnishings dating to 1736. Guests are invited to sleep on an old-fashioned "kang" style bed (heated brick bedstead) surrounded by the furniture and art of China's glorious past.
The old residence consists of No.16 (the family residence), No.14 (the staff quarters), No.18 (the study room) and No.20 (the carriage and horses yard) of Sand-Lane Street, No.9 of Stone-Slope (the ancestral temple) and No.6 of West Guo-Family-Lane (the garden).
Guests find the historical setting relaxing and creates a mood which is introspective and tranquil.
The Yide Hotel opened in 2002 and was renovated in 2007.

I stayed for 3 nights at the Yide Hotel and found the accommodation and helpfulness of the staff of be of a high quality. The hotel has been really well converted from a traditional courtyard home, with all original features preserved. The kang bed was really interesting and comfortable. The staff were very helpful, even coming to get me to transport me to the railway station for free when my watch had stopped! They were very helpful in organising trips and rail tickets. Recommended for those who want a taste of something traditional, but with the comfort of modern facilities and friendly staff. |

Just excellent. From the traditional style rooms to the wonderful service (including pick up from the station), I think this is as good a hotel as I have stayed in. Everything was just right, and the Pingyao style beef was the best in town. |
