Skip the breakfast at the hotel, at 20Y it's not that good except for the convenience. Hotel is well situated close to bus stops, and walking distance to the Drum & Bell Towers, and the Muslim Quarter (across the wide street) for food and shopping. Right across the main street from several world famous eateries too. Quiet room with view is a double edged sword, since these rooms are facing the busy street so it's gets loud from early in the morning. Also gets rowdy clients on weekends playing mah jong and running between rooms for parties. Otherwise, it's a good location. The beds, as in many Chinese hotels, are on the hard side, but I like that; so don't do belly flops onto the bed unless you want cracked ribs. There is a helpful travel agency in the lobby, also a convenient airport shuttle that leaves from the front door (25Y). That area is going under rapid changes with mega malls and shops coming soon. Hotel has it's own spa for great massages, but don't confuse it for the other spa (external concession) that has some dicey clientele. Lots of discounts at the restaurant and spa for hotel guests, but you have to read that in Chinese. |

The hotel room was very nice and comfortable.I wasn't too keen on the restaurant.If you just want a coffee,they will try to push you into buying food.The location is ideal.Some of the staff were helpful,others weren't.The internet did not work in the rooms.Also, if you need a western toilet, make sure you go in your room before checking out, as the hotel lobby only has chinese toilets.The staff were very unhelpful in this regard.If you have a disability i would not recommend this hotel!!! All in all, it is ok value for money. |
